Kavousi

The name derives from the word "Kavouz" which means fountain. The village was mentioned as Cavussi in 1577 by Barozzi. In this beautiful village, there is a church of Agios Ioannis Theologos that dates back to the Venetian occupation. Its bell comes from Trieste. Outside the village, on the side of the road there is a forest of Aries, a kind of oak tree that beautifies and gives breath to the area's wild landscape.
